OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY AND WELL-BEING

As the heart of the community, all of us at Cordis Auckland are taking every step we can to ensure the safety and well-being of our city, our guests, and our colleagues. As we continue to remain vigilant and implement stringent measures against the spread of COVID-19, the health of all our guests and colleagues remains, as always, our top priority.

VACCINATION POLICY

Anyone entering the hotel for any purpose must provide proof upon arrival of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Only fully vaccinated guests or guests who have an official medical exemption will be permitted entry into the hotel. Children over 12 years must be fully vaccinated, while children under 12 years do not need to be vaccinated if accompanied by fully vaccinated adults. You will need to provide proof that the child is under 12 years old. Evidence can be shown through your My Covid Record, which can be accessed through your My Health Account.

All staff working at Cordis, Auckland are also fully vaccinated, in line with the government’s announcement of mandatory vaccination settings for the hospitality sector, under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework.

ENTRY TO THE HOTEL

When you arrive at the hotel you will need to enter through the Great Room Front Entrance, where your vaccination certificate will be verified. All other entry points, including through the car park or City Road, will be closed. If you are entering the hotel in a group of 20 or more arriving together please let us know in advance, and we can arrange for you to come through an alternative entrance as one group.

If you are arriving via the car park and have luggage, please ensure your luggage is left with the concierge prior to parking, as entry is not available from the car park lifts. You can still use the Wilson car park located on Liverpool Street and take the lift down to the hotel, however you would be required to exit on Karangahape Road and walk to Symonds Street to enter the hotel.

GUEST SAFETY PROCEDURES

Our staff have undergone training and will be abiding by all physical distancing, social gathering number limitations and other traffic light restrictions.

Below are the main actions that Cordis, Auckland is currently implementing in line with the red traffic light, under the COVID-19 Protection Framework:

  • Guest contact areas are sanitised after each interaction
  • Check-in forms completed by all guests visiting and/or staying at Cordis, Auckland upon their arrival for contact tracing, should it be required by the Ministry of Health
  • Automated hand sanitiser bottles are located throughout the hotel, including the lobby, restaurants and bars, event spaces and reception
  • There will be physical distancing and personal hygiene reminders on digital signage around the hotel
  • Face coverings are required for both team members and guests, with a 1 metre social distance
  • Notices posted at back-of-house areas to remind our colleagues to maintain good personal hygiene and physical distancing at all times
  • Sterilisation of remote controls, cutlery, cups, and all other surfaces in guestrooms, restaurants and spa

Below are the supplementary precautionary measures taken at our hotel’s restaurants, spa and health club as well as suppliers to safeguard the health of our guests and colleagues:

FOOD & BEVERAGE (EIGHT RESTAURANT, OUR LAND IS ALIVE, CHANDELIER LOUNGE, IN-ROOM DINING) – OPERATIONS DURING RED ZONE

All guests to be seated in dining areas. Tables will be spaced to allow for physical distancing of 1 metre, there will be one wait staff allocated to each table

  • Dining areas will be limited to less than 100 guests at all times. Only 10 people can be seated at one table, if you are in a group of more than 10, you will be seated at different tables and you must stay seated at your table
  • All tables and high-touch surfaces are being cleaned and sanitised frequently, including cutlery, crockery, and glasses that are cleaned at high heat and sanitised during cleaning
  • Frequent sanitisation of seating areas including chairs, tables, door handles and handrails
  • Hand sanitisers are available in multiple areas
  • No self-service food buffets will be available at any of the outlets, this is in line with the New Zealand Food Safety guidelines. A buffet to table option will be in place until we move in to the traffic light orange, under the COVID-19 Protection Framework
  • All guests, event organisers and staff must wear a face mask at all times, except when consuming food or beverage

SPA AND HEALTH CLUB

  • Disinfection of all areas regularly including the reception desk, touch screens, and fitness machines
  • Automated hand sanitisers available
  • The tri-bathing areas (pool, spa pool and sauna) and Health Club will be open, physical distancing of 1 metre and hygiene protocols will need to be followed by guests and colleagues at all times. Under the traffic light red, there will be limits on people in these shared areas. Only six people will be allowed in the spa pool at any time, 10 people in the swimming pool and two people at a time in the steam room and sauna. Reservations will need to be made with the Chuan spa reception for these areas.
  • Chuan Spa therapists will be wearing masks during treatments and while with guests
  • Temperature checks for all guests prior to Chuan Spa treatments

SUPPLIERS/VENDORS

  • All Suppliers and Vendors wishing to enter hotel premises will need to show proof of the Vaccination certificate.
  • Restricted access for all suppliers, vendors and delivery persons and required completion of check-in form should contact tracing be required
  • Physical distancing of 1 metre and hygiene and safety protocols will need to be followed
  • Wearing of PPE where needed
  • The entrance for Events Suppliers and Events Contractors is on Liverpool Street, where the event spaces back entrances are located

MEETINGS AND EVENTS

  • Your Event Manager will let you know whether you will enter from The Great Room Lower Lobby or the Hotel Main Entrance. Once at the entrance, you will be required to show your vaccine pass and Cordis staff will scan the QR code for entry. All guests and suppliers must sign in using the QR code or manual register.
  • At traffic light red, gatherings are allowed to take place with up to 100 people per event space, with 1 metre social distancing in place and strict hygiene protocols. Please ask your Event Manager for the detailed procedure.
  • All gatherings will be seated, with 1 metre social distancing between each guest. Food and drinks are individually served.
  • At traffic light red and orange, all guests, organisers and staff must wear a face mask at all times, except when consuming food or beverage.
  • If you are an Event Supplier, please call Banquet or the Duty Manager on arrival to the hotel (your Event Manager will let you know in advance which phone number to call). A Cordis staff member will greet you and will scan your Vaccine Pass, then give you a lanyard to be worn at all times while onsite. Please return the lanyard upon departure.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

In consideration of the virus outbreak and in order to facilitate our hotel guests to change or cancel their reservations, LHG will implement the following cancellation policies:

DIRECT INDIVIDUAL BOOKINGS TO LHG HOTELS

We have updated our cancellation policies. From 1 October 2021, guests will need to refer to the terms and conditions regarding refunds and cancellation fees on their respective bookings.

THIRD-PARTY INDIVIDUAL BOOKINGS TO ALL LHG HOTELS

For individual bookings made by a travel agent or an online booking platform, guests will need to contact their agent/booking site and refer to their terms and conditions regarding refunds and cancellation fees.

GROUP & CATERING BOOKINGS

For group and catering bookings, please contact the hotel directly for all enquiries.
